WHY ARE YOUR PHOTOS JUST SITTING ON A CD.... OR ON YOUR COMPUTER?
I have noticed that many models are not sending out their work or sending it out the correct people.
To get work, you have to send your photos out on a consistent schedule, and if you want to be the best and have the most opportunities possible, then this has to be done all the time, each and everyday.... you must send your photos to everyone you can, friends, family, co-workers, small business, large businesses, etc. SEND YOUR PICTURES TO EVERYONE.
SEND THEM OUT, OR SIT OUT
If you are not sending your photos out, then you are not making yourself available for work/projects and if you are not available for work/projects, then you are either
#1 sitting at home
#2 Working a job you don't really care to be at.
Sitting out in modeling is not working, not connecting and no one is connecting or calling you.
THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM
Set a goal and make a plan to obtain your goal, do the things necessary to establish yourself, it may seem uncomfortable at first but as time goes on, the more you do it, the better you will become.

THE NAME OF THE GAME IS PERSISTENCE......
If you google, Finding Modeling Work or Modeling Gigs, google will pull up ton's of how to's and sources, but the truthfully, to secure work in modeling, you have to get out there and do lots of leg work, experience rejection and hear alot of "Sorry we're not interested", but it's a number game and you have to work the numbers.
Work the numbers and you will succeed...
THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR
#1 online sites who say that you can get gigs by paying a monthly fee. some are legit some are not, this is research that you or your manager should do to find out the legitimacy of the site or source.
#2 classified ad sites there are people who are willing to pay you for your modeling services, few are legit some are not legit (Craigslist for example is a good source but be smart when searching)
Indicators of the POSTS you need to stay away from
A. Look at the post, if it does not have any information about the project, the person, an email adress or phone number WATCH OUT!!!! and skip this post, MOVE ON!!!
BUILD A TEAM
I will always stress the importance of builing a team, doesn't matter if you are new or a experienced model, it is probably the best advice I can give you on modeling, but in order to build a team you must have positions (like in a company)
For example you should have
#1 A Manager
#2 A Marketing person
#3 1-3 other models who you network with and share information with(support)
Make sure you write up agreements with everyone to give them something for their hard work, or if you have the funds pay them something weekly, it doesn't have to be big, it could be a gift certificate, gas card or dinner.
Always remember to take care of those who are loyal to you and who hang in there with you.
BUILD A LIST
#1 Write down a list of targets you would like to contact (I have lists of thousands of companies and businesses who I call and email every month in search of projects)
#2 Do not be afraid of no (the more no's you get, brings you closer to a yes)
Remember to have daily, weekly and monthly and yearly goals set for everyone in your team
For instance one example of a goal: would to have your marketing person place your pictures or work in 2 new media places a month.
2nd Goal: have your manager contact 1 person a day to secure you work.
Remember to have fun with it, have fun, have fun
If you are not having fun, then this is just another job you have to work.

You may be wondering why in the world do i need a manager
To create more opportunities, to organize, help planning strategy and assist you with everything you need in order to be a success.
2 types of managers-----> Good Managers and Bad Managers
Good Manager- should be working his butt off to ensure that you get to where ever it is you need to succeed.
Things to look for in a good manager
#1 Returns calls and emails.
#2 Has a track records in management or other businesses or companies he or she was apart of.
#3 Listens to you.
#4 Kicks butt when it comes to getting you connections.
#5 Professional in appearance.
#6 Does his or her business with agreements (paperwork).
#7 References from others managed, and other business owners.
#8 A good manager looks out for your best interests.
Things to look for in a bad manager
It is basically the exact opposite of the good manager list
When picking a manager
When picking a manager, it is very important that you test drive your manager, and by that I mean work with him or her for 3 to 4 months just to get a feel for how the manager works, rarely should you sign any long-term agreement with any manager or anyone, if you do not know how they work and conduct themselves in business.
These simple steps are really all you need in the beginning of your modeling career, and they are so important.
And remember to ask questions and always go with how you feel (Gut Feeling) or the vibe you get when meeting with a manager
